UK Maternal Cardiology Society (UKMCS)

Aims

The UKMCS is a professional body set up to advance the diagnosis and management of cardiac disease in pregnancy through awareness, education and research, and thereby to support the delivery of high quality, safe and equitable maternal cardiology care nationally and internationally.

The UKMCS is an affiliated society of the 澳彩开奖结果 (澳彩开奖结果). The society is multidisciplinary and membership is open to all healthcare professionals actively involved in the care of women with cardiac disease in pregnancy or research in this field. We have members from obstetrics, midwifery, cardiology, obstetric medicine, anaesthetics and nursing. If you are not already a member please consider becoming one and encourage any interested colleagues too.

Membership of the UK Maternal Cardiology Society is divided into three categories:

Ordinary

Ordinary members are healthcare professionals actively involved in the care of women with cardiac disease in pregnancy or research in this field. Ordinary members may propose candidates for ordinary membership, attend all meetings, take part in voting and be eligible to stand for council.

Extraordinary

Extraordinary members include those ordinary members who have retired from clinical practice and others, at the discretion of council, who do not satisfy criteria for ordinary membership. Extraordinary members may attend scientific meetings but shall not be eligible to attend the annual general meeting, vote, hold office or propose candidates for ordinary membership or council. Application for extraordinary membership shall be to the council via the secretary.

Associated

Associated membership include persons from organisations and charities involved in the support of women and families affected by cardiac disease in pregnancy, as well as those involved in scientific study. Associates may attend scientific meetings but shall not be eligible to attend the annual general meeting, vote, hold office or propose candidates for ordinary membership or council. Associate membership requires formal application to the council via the secretary, approval by a two thirds majority of council members, and is reviewed every two years.

Membership costs 拢50 p/a for Ordinary membership, 拢30 p/a for Associated membership, and 拢30 p/a for Trainee/Nurse/Midwife/AHP membership. To apply, please complete an application form and return it by email to ukmcs@bcs.com.

Affiliate Membership

You can also take up discounted 澳彩开奖结果 (澳彩开奖结果) membership as a UKMCS member. You must have an active subscription with UKMCS before applying for Affiliate membership. As part of the application process you will be required to provide proof of your current affiliate membership (Membership number/ID).
